Preparing for Adulthood Mission Statement

The key intent of our Preparing for Adulthood Curriculum is to equip our students with the essential tools and skills which they will need to lead a fulfilling and meaningful adult life. We work closely with local agencies and professionals to ensure that our students receive the best information and guidance, allowing them to make well-informed and realistic decisions about their future.

This curriculum will be implemented by following The Life skills Challenge which is accredited by ASDAN to offer the students a range of challenges to work towards.  These challenges will focus on areas such as finance, budgeting, communication, the world of work, home safety and home skills.  In addition, we will work closely with local colleges, training providers and other agencies college link courses, employer open days, independent travel trainers and a range of support agencies to further develop our students.

The overall impact of this will be will be to ensure a smooth transition into post-16 life, enabling students to reach their full potential.
